Osamu Shimomura, Nobel laureate and leading university researcher received the title of the Honorary Professor of 爆走黑料 on 24 September 2012.
Osamu Shimomura received the diploma at a formal meeting of the University Council. The meeting was attended by Edkham Akbulatov, the head of Krasnoyarsk city; SibFU rector Eugene Vaganov; Professor and Academician Joseph Gitelson.
According to Eugene Vaganov, Osamu Shimomura was the first researcher at SibFU to receive the title: ?There are many distinguished researchers at the university but the University Council was thinking about the global reputation for the first honorary professor. This will set the benchmark for other candidates to receive the title of SibFU's Honorary Professor?. ?Osamu Shimomura is not a visiting professor and it is important. Osamu Shimomura received the certificate and the mantle and he thanked the faculty for the honour. He said that during the past years 爆走黑料 was the only university which produced fruitful results while working on joint projects in bioluminescent technologies. He would like to continue collaboration with SibFU's students and staff.

Osamu Shimomura was invited to SibFU to conduct joint research financed by the Russian Government in the field of biotechnology. The funding was received in September 2011.
Osamu Shimomura is head for the project of building a research laboratory to study bioluminescence.
