Expert RA independent agency supported by large business released its third table of university rankings on 5 June 2014. SibFU is ranked 15th after gaining one point since 2013. The ranking used national statistical data and survey results. The survey participants included 7.500 employers, members of academic community, students and graduates. The indicators used in the ranking are demand for the university graduates, research, and the quality of education.

According to Victor Pronkin, First Deputy Head of Oleg Deripaska's Foundation, who stressed the importance of a leading national ranking, ?An independent professional ranking is an important tool to make universities competitive. 'Expert RA' is, undoubtedly independent and professional. In addition, it is about the internationally valued strengths of the Russian education, something that international tables do not take into account. 'Expert RA' is the only Russian member on the Board of the International Ranking Expert Group?.

Another key university table released on 5 June 2014 was the National University Ranking prepared by the Interfax information group and 'Moscow's Echo' radio channel. It is supported by the RF Ministry of Education and Research. SibFU is ranked 14th in the table.

2013/2014 National Rating included 161 universities. The ranking indicators were:

• education;
• research;
• public involvement;
• international involvement;
• branding;
• innovation and entrepreneurship.

SibFU Rector Eugene Vaganov said: ?Higher places in university rankings taken in the last three years is the evidence of stability and the indicator of adequate priorities in the university development programme. It is especially important that the university graduates are demanded by employers. The university is ranked 6th or 7th in Russia by this indicator. This an important evidence of the university quality?.
