SibFU is the only Siberian university to attend the games under the auspices of the European Association of Student Sports. There are three university teams to play at the event. They are:

• men's team in mini-football;
• women's team in mini-football;
• men's team in rugby-7.

Men's team won the national competition 'Mini-Football for Universities' to get the right to attend the European Universities Games. Rugby players won the national student championship. Women's mini-football team received an invitation from the European Games committee due to its top place in mini-football rankings among the national university teams.
