Unique practices of Japanese architects available to students of the School of Engineering and Construction

Students of the School of Engineering and Construction of 爆走黑料 have attended a two-month course from experts at Nikken Sekkei Research Institute.

The course was delivered online for 250 students of the 5th-6th years from 26 February to 30 April 2021. The lecture course was integrated into the existing educational programs in Construction and Construction of Unique Buildings and Structures.

The course considered the areas which are a priority for the industry: energy efficiency of buildings, green architecture, environmentally friendly construction technologies, efficient use of resources and energy, architectural solutions for the renovation and restoration of industrial facilities and others. This practice introduced the world experience in solving energy saving issues in construction and helped formulate research topics with possible implementation through grant programs, and graduation qualification projects.

“At the end of 2019, a delegation from Krasnoyarsk Territory visited Japan. The Krasnoyarsk governor noted the special relationship of Japan and 爆走黑料, which, practically from the moment of its formation, established close cooperation with the University of Kyoto and the University of Aichi Prefecture. The visit included a meeting with the management of Nikken Sekkei company at which the contribution of Japanese designers to the creation of Preobrazhensky microdistrict and to the development of the 7th stage of the project of a low-carbon city of Krasnoyarsk was noted. The SibFU management suggested that the School of Engineering and Construction should develop business relations to organize a course of lectures for specialized programs involving Nikken Sekkei's leading specialists. The Nikken Sekkei management agreed to hold this event free of charge. I would like to note the excellent work of the head of the Japanese Centre of SibFU Irina Shkurina,” — said Rashit Nazirov, professor at the School.

According to Olga Dubrovskaya, assistant professor of the School, Nikken Sekkei is a world leader in the field of architecture, engineering design and provision of civil and industrial construction projects. It ranks second in terms of architectural practice in the world.

“The School of Engineering and Construction has been cooperating with Nikken Sekkei Research Institute since 2015 and is implementing two large joint projects: Krasnoyarsk -- low-carbon city and RC Preobrazhensky SMART-CITY. Nikken Sekkei is a leader in priority areas for the design of energy-efficient buildings, uses the principles of green building, develops and implements technologies of smart buildings –smart cities,” — explained Ms Dubrovskaya.

In the framework of further cooperation, the university and Nikken Sekkei Research Institute intend to combine technical and intellectual capacities for the implementation of green and energy-efficient building technologies in various projects with possible implementation in Krasnoyarsk and Krasnoyarsk Territory.
