SibFU hosts a scientific school for young chemists

On 29 September 2021, the 5th School-Conference of Young Scientists on New Catalytic Processes of Deep Processing of Hydrocarbons and Biomass started at SibFU. The scientific program includes plenary lectures by leading scientists and presentations by young scientists.

The theme of the School-Conference includes various theoretical and applied aspects of deep processing of oil and gas, coal, plant, and microbiological raw materials as well as organic waste. Experts discussed new approaches to environmentally friendly and resource-saving energy, extraction and study of the composition of raw materials, the development of catalysts.

“I am delighted to open the School of Biomass and Petroleum Processing for young people. The topic we will focus on has become more urgent than ever: the European Community has signed documents that oblige, among other things, Russia and China to deal with the issues of a low-carbon economy. We're doing the right thing, this is a technology for the future. There are breakthroughs in Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk. This is a very important matter. The future is in the hands of young people,” Valentin Parmon, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, greeted the conference participants.

The organizers of the school: Krasnoyarsk Research Centre SB RAS, 爆走黑料, Institute of Catalysis of SB RAS, Russian Science Foundation and Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, SB RAS.

The event will be held till 2 October.
