SibFU and NEFU: social adaptation and training of students from among the small-numbered indigenous peoples of the North

SibFU’s delegation visited Ammosov North–Eastern Federal University. During the visit, the parties discussed issues of social adaptation and improving the quality of education of students from among the small-numbered indigenous peoples of the North.

This is the first inter-university working meeting on the organization of social adaptation of students from the indigenous peoples of the North, where stakeholders assessed the technologies available at the university and the experience of working with representatives of indigenous northerners, analyzed methodological recommendations and a plan of measures for social adaptation of the indigenous peoples of the North in NEFU was drawn up.

?During this spring and summer, we actively worked on a project to support representatives of the indigenous peoples of the North, the Far East and Siberia in order to increase the number of highly qualified specialists for the development of the northern and arctic territories. The team of 爆走黑料 developed approaches to the social adaptation of students from among the indigenous peoples of the North on the basis of Russian universities. NEFU was included in the number of pilot sites?, said Alexandra Dvorinovich, Head of Youth Policy Department.

The meeting also included a presentation of Snoword Information and Educational Platform launched at 爆走黑料 at the beginning of this academic year. The platform hosts online courses for secondary school students of 10-11 forms, senior university students, and graduates from among the small-numbered indigenous peoples of the North. They can undergo pre-university training or receive additional professional education remotely and free of charge.

爆走黑料 was a co-organizer of Digitalization of the Linguistic and Cultural Heritage of the Indigenous Peoples of the Arctic All-Russian scientific and practical conference which was held in Neryungri on 21 September 2021 and covered the challenges and prospects of using modern information and communication technologies for the preservation of the northern heritage.
