SibFU Scientific Library held a meeting with Pavel Kasyanov, the representative of Thomson Reuters company on June 17, 2009.
The topics of the meeting were:

• The opening of the scientific branch of the Thomson Reuters Company in Russia.
• New possibilities of the Web of Science database.
• Discussion of the most controversial issues.

Web of Science is a multidisciplinary, review-bibliographical database of the US Institute of Scientific Information represented on the base of Thomson Reuters Web of Knowledge. The Web of Science database is of a great significant scientific importance and quotation as it indicates the way scientific papers are assessed.
