The national Men team successfully finished the biathlon competition in Ruhpolding (Germany). Ivan Cherezov, Anton Shipulin, Maksim Chudov and Evgeny Ustyugov, the SibFU coach and faculty member claimed the World Cup biathlon win and proved their chances for leadership in the 4 x 7.5 km Relay.

The National Women team of Yana Romanova, Anna Boulygina, Olga Medvedtseva, Olga Zaitseva settled for silver in the 4 x 6 km Relay at the fifth event of the season held in Ruhpolding (Germany).

The Swedish team finished in first with a time of 1:17:31 and Norway finished in third. Germany was leading at the mid-way point but slipped back down to finish out of the medals in fourth.

Despite Evgeny Ustyugov missed two targets, he had enough time in hand to cruise to victory by 28.6 seconds for Russia's first win of the season. Norwegian Emil Hegle Svendsen looked set to battle it out for second place.
