Kirill Veselov won gold medal at the 1 st Round of the World Cup in Ski Orienteering held on January 15 – 18, 2010 in Leningrad Region (Russia).

4 sportsmen comprised the team of Krasnoyarsk Region:

• Kirill Veselov, Honoured Master of Sports, SibFU staff member;
• Andrey Grigoriev, International Master of Sports, SibFU staff member;
• Vladimir Barchukov, International Master of Sports, SibFU staff member;
• Polina Malchikova, International Master of Sports, student of the SibFU Institute of Economics, Management and Environmental Studies.

The team of Krasnoyarsk Region showed flawless performance in the 2,3 km sprint. Kirill Veselov claimed his first career win overhauling Peter Anderson with 9 seconds advantage.

Next day, Andrey Grigoriev competed in the 19,8 km long distance relay, showed the same result as Eduard Khrennikov, Russian sportsman and won bronze medal.
