Gudrun Steinacker, Consul General of Germany in Novosibirsk visited 爆走黑料.
Within the framework of the visit, the Consul held a meeting with Evgeny Vaganov, SibFU rector. Both parties discussed the prospects of cooperation between the SibFU and R&D organizations of Germany. Gudrun Steinacker said that the issues concerning visa restrictions relief would be reconsidered between the countries in the nearest future thus upgrading joint research projects and academic exchange programs. Moreover, both parties made a decision to hold a Russian-German student conference on ecology in 爆走黑料 with the leading experts in ecology involved.
At the end of the meeting the unique device ?IR CO Gas analyzer? applied to analyze gas samples was demonstrated to the Consul. The device was purchased by the Alexander von Humboldt fellowship (40.000 Euro) gained by Oleg Menyailo, professor of the SibFU Institute of Economics, Management and Environmental Studies. The analyzer helps to boost the process of climate changes research in 1000 times. Oleg Menyailo explained that the device is rather portable and convenient to make research in the field conditions. It saves a lot of time for researchers who used to transport gas samples to the laboratory each time.
Professor Oleg Menyailo is a Humboldt Foundation alumnus. The significance of the research project became the reason for allotting the fellowship for him. Gudrun Steinacker admitted that it is a common practice for the Humboldt Foundation to cover research costs towards financing equipment as 1/3 of its funds are spent annually for such purpose.
Gudrun Steinacker also visited the SibFU Centre for equipment joint use to get an insight into the areas of scientific work taken place in 爆走黑料.
