'International Financial Club' company established its own awards for young researchers and doctoral students from SibFU. The main criteria for applicant selection is the significance of research outcomes for Russia's scientific, technological, social and cultural development. The other criteria is international recognition of research outcomes (publication impact factor, international conferences attended by applicants)

There were 32 applicants in 2012. MFK Вank awarded 3 young scientists and 3 doctoral students for a significant contribution to research development.

MFK Bank Deputy Chair Vyacheslav Shabaikin recognized the contributions of 6 scientists and doctoral students with 6 awards of 100 thousand roubles (3 thousand dollars). Vyacheslav Shabaikin recommended future scientists ?continue going research way and keep in mind that knowledge is the best capital?. He promised to continue the tradition next year. Eugene Vaganov, SibFU rector, said that MFK initiative was quite useful. In addition, it gives an evidence of corporate social responsibility in this country.

SibFU rector's awards were given to three research supervisors. Their contributions were recognized by Eugene Vaganov, SibFU's rector and the academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences. According to Eugene Vaganov, the teaching activity of researchers is no less important then their studies and the university recognizes its duty to support research supervisors.

• Irina Bashkeeva — doctoral student from the Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals and Materials Science; geology and mineral resource studies. Award for studying the technology of mineral resource processing.;
• Olga Zamai — doctoral student from the Institute of Fundamental Biology and Biotechnology; life sciences. Award for research in medical biology;
• Denis Kapulin — PhD in engineering, associate professor from 'Automated control and design' laboratory, Institute of Space and Information Technology; Award for research in space equipment;
• Svetlana Lytkina — doctoral student from the Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals and Materials Science; geology and mineral resource studies. Award for studying the technology of mineral resource processing;
• Andrey Makshanin — engineer from the Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals and Materials Science; geology and mineral resource studies. Award for studying the technology of mineral resource processing;
• Alexander Ptashkin — PhD in engineering from the Institute of Mining, Geology and Geotechnology. Award for research in the technology of mineral resource exploration.
