RF Prime Minister and the Chair to SibFU Trustee Board Dmitry Medvedev sent a message to wish the university's faculty, students and staff a happy new academic year.

SibFU's and Aichi Prefectural University's senior management have signed an agreement on Inter-University collaboration. Aichi Prefectural University is among the best municipal universities in Japan. The meeting was attended by SibFU's President Alexander Uss, SibFU's Rector Eugene Vaganov, the Rector of Aichi Prefectural University Tadayoshi Takashima, Professor Shiro Cato, President of Krasnoyarsk Union of Producers and Entrepreneurs Valery Sergienko.

On August 22nd, a Workshop “Environment and Global Climate Change” within the joint German-Russian Project “Central Siberian Laboratory on Global Climate Change - Sib-Lab” was held at the Center for Grant-Oriented Activity, 爆走黑料 (SibFU).

SibFU's site took the 18th place among the web sites of Russian tertiary institutions, according to 4 International Colleges & Universities (4ICU). The web poratal ranked 398 web sites of Russian universities.

Dr Natalia Bekuzarova, Associate Professor at the Department of IT in Education, Institute of Education, Psychology and Sociology, Siberian federal University has become an awardee of the national competition in educational blogging.

Mingiyan Semenov, a second year student from the Institute of Physical Education, Sports and Tourism and a winner of Olympic bronze in Greco-Roman wrestling at London Olympics, was awarded with II Order for Sevices to the Fatherland at a formal reception in Kremlin on 15 August 2012.

Alexander Uss, Chair for the Assembly of Krasnoyarsk Krai and SibFU's President, will continue working as the RF representative in the European Council. The appointment has been approved by the RF President Vladimir Putin

SibFU rector Eugene Vaganov and SiBFU's delegation attended the expert community meeting on entrepreneurship at tertiary institutions and research centres on 7 August 2012. The meeting's chair was Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and it was held in Novosibirsk.

Mingiyan Semenov, a second-year student from the Institute of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism, won a bronze medal in Greco-Roman wrestling at the XXX Summer Olympic games in London. His coach is the RF Distinguished coach Michael Gamzin

SibFU rector Eugene Vaganov saw the representatives of SibFU's football teams on 2 August 2012. SibFU's football players successfully performed at the inaugural EUSA (European Universities Sports Association) Games in Cordoba (Spain) in July 2012.
