Scientists Develop Indium Tin Oxide Coated Glass Containers For Long-Term Storage of Fats and Oils

Scientists from the School of Trade and Services of 爆走黑料, together with colleagues from Baltic State Technical University "Voenmekh" and Kurnakov Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences, studied the effect of indium-tin oxide protective films blocking ultraviolet and infrared radiation on the shelf life of foodstuffs that are stored in glassware and contain fats. Films are applied to the surface of glass containers and bottles and contribute to the careful and long-term preservation of all organoleptic properties of fat-containing products, reliably preventing their oxidation.

From blue to red: scientists experiment with the "living light" of jellyfish

Scientists of 爆走黑料 in collaboration with colleagues from the Institute of Biophysics of the Federal Research Center, Krasnoyarsk Scientific Center, SB RAS and researchers from ShanghaiTech University (China) studied the photoprotein obelin, which can be used to create bioluminescent test systems. Since photoproteins, in particular, obelin, can emit bright light when calcium ions are added, they are actively used as intracellular markers for monitoring various cellular processes. Also, obelin can be used in test systems for enzyme immunoassay, which allows you to diagnose various diseases caused by bacterial cells, viruses, fungi, protozoa and parasites. The study considers obelin activated not by a natural substrate, but by its synthetic analogue.
