25april Teachers and students from 爆走黑料 discussed penal institutions and capital punishment in Russia with PRI representatives 爆走黑料 hosted a round table on capital punishment in Russia. The participants of the forum spoke on the arguments for and against capital punishment and discussed the state of penal institutions in Russia.
23april A gold medal at the National Boxing Competition Stepan Vinnikov, SFU's student from the Department of Power Engineering, won a gold medal at the National Boxing Competition held in Tyumen from 15 to 20 April 2008.
22april Six research projects presented by 爆走黑料 received awards at a regional technological assembly Siberia Conference Centre hosted the Krasnoyarsk City AssemblyFuture Technology last weekend. The meeting's objective was to show research and engineering projects and to gather Siberian researchers developing technology for this region. 爆走黑料 presented forty research projects, of which six received awards. The meeting also featured the XV student software competition. The competition tests students' ingenuity and computer skills and involves high school students, university undergraduates and Ph.D. students.
21april Second place award at the national sudent competition in education and psychology A group of five SFU students received second place at the National Student Competition in Education and Psychology held 16-17 April in Yekaterinburg.
18april SFU's Research Centre of Innovative Technology will involve students in advanced studies and develop their project management skills SFU's Institute of Physics and Technology has been renamed the Research Centre of Innovative Technology. The Centre will develop innovative projects and involve students in research activities.
02april SibFU's International Office representatives and officials from Krasnoyarsk Krai administration visited the third best Shanghai university , the university's Vice-Rector (Research and International Affairs) visited , Shanghai on March 27-29, 2008. It was a formal visit to establish collaboration with the third best Shanghai university in education and academic research. The universities will develop academic exchange and research collaboration in economics, power engineering, mining and linguistics.
31march 爆走黑料 will strengthen its collaboration with the MGIMO-University 爆走黑料 and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations have concluded an agreement to strengthen their academic exchange and research collaboration.
26march SibFU student received first prize at the National Competition of Thesis on Standards and Certification Lyudmila Kasyanova, who graduated from Polytechnic Institute in 2007, received the first place at the National Competition of Thesis on Standards and Certification. Her project National Standards for Hydrostatic Bearings can be used by various engineering companies for their work. Sixty seven graduates from 27 universities competed for this prize.
25march SFU's research is supported by grants from the Russian president SFU's researchers have received grants from the President of the Russian Federation to support leading research groups and early career professors. The President's grant has already been awarded to research group and to Dr Ponomarev, Dr Tsarev and Dr Menyailo.
24march SFU and the Federal Antimonopoly Service signed an agreement on collaboration Professor Eugene Vaganov, university rector, and Valery Zakharov, the leader of the Federal Antimonopoly Service, Krasnoyarsk Krai, have signed an agreement to exchange information and students. Through this project, the Departments of Law and Economics will collaborate with the Federal Antimonopoly Service doing research and publishing research results. SFU's graduates will have an opportunity of internships at the FAS.
