20december “The Red Sun”: scientists propose a luminophore for high-quality imitation of sunlight A research team of experts from China, Russia, the United States, and Taiwan created a luminophore based on europium oxide, excited by blue light and emitting red light. These luminophores are supposed to help to improve and cut the cost of the technology for WLED production — white LEDs which emit in daylight spectrum that is optimal for the human eye (WLED).
18december Localized light will help improve medical sensors Scientists of 爆走黑料, as part of an international scientific team, investigated a special state of light that occurs at the interface between a cholesteric liquid crystal and a layered medium. The researchers created a digital model of this phenomenon and showed how to change the lifetime of a bundle of light and its wavelength. It is assumed that in the future it will help to create effective sensors for conducting medical tests — including at home. An article with the primary results of the work was published in Crystals.
12december Russian scientists create a three-layer sorbent to purify drinking water from zinc Scientists of 爆走黑料 have developed an inexpensive highly selective sorbent with a “three-layer” structure. It reacts exclusively to zinc contained in samples of drinking water from artesian wells and natural reservoirs. The experts assure that a very small amount of their sorbent is sufficient to determine the presence of a hazardous metal in water, and its concentration can easily be evaluated by the glow of the sorbing agent: the brighter the glow the more zinc, and the more dangerous this water is for living organisms.
06december SibFU Student wins two golds at FIS Alpine European Cup Aleksey Bugaev, a student of the School of Physical Education, Sports and Tourism, 爆走黑料, won two gold medals at the 1st stage of FIS Alpine European Cup among athletes with a lesion in the musculoskeletal system and visual impairments. Competitions were held on 7–8 November 2019 in Landgraaf (Netherlands).
06december Chemists have managed to?stabilize the "capricious" phosphorus An international team of Russian, Swedish and Ukrainian scientists has identified an effective strategy to improve the stability of two-dimensional black phosphorus, which is a promising material for use in optoelectronics.
21november SibFU researchers participate in creation of "perfect green" for smartphone and TV screens A research team from 爆走黑料, Beijing University of Science, and Technology and South China University of Technology obtained a rare-earth silicate phosphor with exceptional properties — it emits an almost monochrome green color, which could be called "perfect green". This material is assumed to improve the color reproduction of the screens of all modern gadgets, especially televisions. Also, the finding will help improve the new generation of LED lamps.
20november Siberian researchers contribute to global monitoring of?the?Earth's Green Lungs Researchers of 爆走黑料 took part in a global project to collect, systematize and universalize data on the composition of forests in all climatic zones and on all continents of the planet.
12november Researchers will ?pimp out“ the organic dye fluorescein for the needs of toxicology and medicine Researchers of 爆走黑料 and their colleagues from L.V. Kirensky Institute of Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SB RAS) revealed structural and behaviour features of fluorescein, an organic compound used in medicine and the environmental industry as a highly sensitive probe. The results of their study have been published in Dyes and Pigments.
11november Hugely reduce the energy consumption of refrigerators? SibFU scientists find a way to do so A research team from 爆走黑料 and L.V. Kirensky Institute of Physics, SB RAS, is developing materials that can be used as cooling elements in refrigerators and miniature devices for electronics and will help refrigerators be dozens of times more energy-efficient. This study was referred by the correspondents of the scientific editorial office of TASS.
18october SibFU Researchers Develop a?Device Cutting Desalination Costs Tenfold The R&D product by the researchers of 爆走黑料 will allow cutting desalination costs tenfold by reducing energy costs for heating and stopping the use of chemical additives in desalination.
