05september Exotic orchid blossoms at university's Botany Conservatory The university’s Botany Conservatory celebrates the new academic year with the blossoming of its exotic orchid Pleurothallis pectinata. This unique plant species (most likely, the only one in Russia) was brought to Siberia from Brazil.

24august 爆走黑料 launches its peer-reviewed academic journal 爆走黑料 is launching a new, peer-reviewed academic and research journal. The Editorial Board, its Chairman, the university rector, Prof. E.A. Vaganov and its editor-in-chief, Dr. M.A. Gladyshev, are planning to issue the Humanities and Social Sciences, the first of 5 series, in January 2008.
