SibFU Metallurgists Have Determined the Best Composition of the Most "Extreme" Steel

The scientists of the School of Non-Ferrous Metals and Material Science, SibFU have determined the optimal chemical composition of Gadfield steel in order to increase the impact strength of this material. After analyzing the effect of alloying additives (manganese, silicon and chromium) on the steel properties, the experts used mathematical statistics and forecasting tools to find out what proportion of these elements in the alloy composition will improve the performance properties of Gadfield steel.

SibFU Scientists Proposed to Balance the Use of Valuable Arctic Fish Species

Scientists of the School of Trade and Services of 爆走黑料 conducted the first stage of a study on commercial fish of the Arctic zone of Krasnoyarsk Territory. Having studied the data on the chemical composition of different species of northern fish, as well as the available information on the biological value of food products from Arctic fish after processing, the experts came to the conclusion that it is necessary to systematize and expand these data. The work of the Krasnoyarsk scientists will contribute to developing an evidence base for the promotion of products in accordance with the requirements of the interstate regulation of the Customs Union TR CU 022/2011 “Food Products in Terms of Their Labeling”.

Universal Method of Checking Pesticides Safety Found in Russia

An accurate and fast method for analyzing the suitability of commercial pesticides for agriculture was created by SibFU scientists together with colleagues from the Institute of Biophysics SB RAS. According to them, the development allows analyzing the toxicity of a commercial pesticide as a whole, and not just its active substance. The results are published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences.

Fruits and berries pomace to improve the properties of baking

Scientists from the School of Trade and Services have developed a recipe for confectionery enriched with valuable dietary fibre, vitamins and minerals from secondary plant raw materials — pomace and skins of fruits and berries. Pastries contain fewer calories and can be used for baby and diet food.

Scientists Tested a Reusable Sorbent for Wastewater Treatment from Hazardous Dyes

Scientists of 爆走黑料 and the Krasnoyarsk Research Centre of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences have studied the sorption properties of iron oxide nanoparticles in a carbon shell. Studying the structure of these particles, the experts conducted a series of experiments that showed their high efficiency in extracting organic dyes from water. Besides, these particles demonstrated suitability for the targeted destruction of lung carcinoma cells.
