SibFU's faculty members and staff will take part in the IX Krasnoyarsk economic forum 'Time for Strategic Initiatives' to be held in Krasnoyarsk from 16 to 18 February 2012. The forum is organized by Krasnoyarsk Krai governement with the support from the government of the Russian Federation.

Dr Irina Gaidasheva, a biotechnologist and the head researcher at SIbFU's Research Centre, has developed 'Laterin', a biopesticide to improve plant growth and protection. The biopesticide might meet the demands of gardeners, farmers and forest specialists.

On December 02, 2011, Sergei Shoigu, Minister of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief of the Russian Federation visited the laboratory of the SibFU Institute of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering equipped with the hardware and software system called ?Strelets-Monitoring?.
