SibFU students Ivan Timofeenko, Alexander Menshikov, Pavel Pankin and Xenia Malyshevskaya are the team behind the project "New Perspective". The project is among the best completed social projects supported by Vladimir Potanin Foundation in 2012.

Faculty and students from the Institute for the Humanities, SibFU, completed the project 'Digital collections of the Museum of Geology, Central Siberia'. It was a joint project between the university and the Museum of Geology, Central Siberia. It was supported by the Regional Reserach Foundation.

SibFU is the winner of Universiade 2012, the competition held among tertiary educational institutions in Krasnoyarsk and Krasnoyarsk Krai. The winner is the project by Igor Chuprov, a doctoral student from the Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals and Materials Science. The title of the project is 'Energy-efficient, heat conductible paste "THERMALCoRe“: nano structures and carbon materials'

Eugeny Kuzmin, Associate Professor from the Department of Radioelectronics, Institute of Engineering Physics and Radioelectronics, SibFU, has won 2012-2014 competition to receive the RF President scholarship to support young researchers and doctoral students. His project was in the nomination 'Space technologies related to telecommunications including GLONASS and surface infrastructure'.
